World Childless Week. Why?

This week isn't about one group, but about lots of groups and people coming together to share a common theme. We have other awareness weeks - Infertility Awareness and Miscarriage Awareness too, and WOW.

Why do we need another? Well, why can't we have another? Let's get talking. I'm all for this especially when I see NHS cuts to IVF services in my area, where Bourn Hall, the place where it all began is situated. I've had lots of powerful conversations recently in the media, online and in person about loss and there is still so much education to be done. Conversely talking has worked, people do listen and understand when we speak out.

What has been heartening is the volume of engagement. The official page on Facebook lists all the groups who are sharing and engaging with us, so I encourage you to go look there. You'll find heaps of useful material and advice, plus a list of online events coming up from 11 to 17th.

You can also get involved in the weekly Twitter chat for @Childlesshour which is always buzzing and empowering but this week I'm sure it'll be even more powerful than usual. It's a great place to make new friends and it runs every Tuesday 8-9pm.

You can be sure that Walk In Our Shoes will be partnering up and I'll be sharing and RT'ing online from our account. Look out for our daily content from the blog during #worldchildlessweek. I've been there from the start with Steph, the genius behind this and we, as a community owe her a great thanks.

Do remember that this a joint effort so there are lots of bloggers involved. Look out for the official hashags #worldchildlessweek and #WCW. Please share and use those messages so we create a powerful message. So here's to a great week!
